Easy Casserole for Christmas Breakfast

Every year at Christmas; one of the main things my family looks forward to is the breakfast casserole I make. I get it ready the night before, leave it in the fridge over night, and then stick it in the oven in the morning. It makes the morning easier, since it is usually a pretty hectic day. It also helps make sure everyone gets something other than sweets in their bellies.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t get through the holidays without some good old cream of mushroom soup. It’s important to a lot of my baking, especially my special Christmas Breakfast Casserole. I have been noticing lately that store bought cream of mushroom soup has been going up in price, and down in quality. Not to mention all the additional things put in it. I’m thinking this year I might make my own. I looked it up on Youtube.com, and Rockin Robin made it look pretty simple; with an end result that looks delicious.

Powders are great for providing, or enhancing, flavor in dishes. Each mushroom powder has its own taste. While the oyster powder has a more understated soft taste, the shiitake powder has a stronger, more woodsy taste to it. The lion’s mane powder does more enhancing of the other flavors in your dish than adding its own flavor in.
