Mother of Pearl Oyster Liquid Culture *MCM Original*

$30.00$120.00

Description

This pearlescent Mother of Pearl Oyster Mushroom grows similar to the Gold Oyster, creating a core and splintering off into several little stems and caps. Its stems are soft and a great texture for eating, making it a fantastic choice for making profit selling mushrooms. The caps are mainly white, with a hint of blue that is reminiscent of mother of pearl.

  • Each syringe comes with 10 cc’s of liquid culture.
  • Which in our experience is enough to inoculate 5 X 5 lbs bags of sterilized grain.
  • They will survive a wide range of temperatures
  • Grow vigorously
  • Great for beginners
  • After that, you can store any extra in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.

***This strain is still considered early in its development in the commercial mushroom industry. As such it can express itself in ways differing from our pictures. This can mean anything from color expression to yields and can be caused by your room conditions, time of year, or even temperatures. As this strain is tested in various growing conditions over time, we will be able to give more accurate descriptions and better set expectations.***

Didn’t grow on anything. Agar, lc, or grain.

I was told that my order would be sent back out but never received. Did get a refund tho so thanks for that.

Potentially contaminated

I hate to rate things, I do not want to sound like a jerk, MCM has been very good to me since we started our business relationship, but within the first 24-48 hours several small bacterial colonies formed during a QA test on a petri dish. There was some mycelium that appeared to be growing so I am leaving it to grow out and will try to salvage a healthy section of this strain. Despite the contamination, the little mycelium that is growing looks to be okay...I am hopeful that I can save something viable.

I ordered 8 strains at the same time, one [Pathfinder] did not grow anything in a petri dish, and the other two [Rocky Top and Mother of Pearl] have grown some sort of contamination. I will try to salvage what I can, but if unsuccessful I will reorder these three strains...they were on the top of my list from your library! Again, we are dealing with biologics here, I certainly understand that these things can happen. All other strains are doing great!

Thanks so much!

The truth is, this culture for reasons unknown hasnt been colonizing our grains. I reached out to J at Mossy Creek to let him know and within a day, my culture has been replaced. We had figured something happened during the shipping process and without hesitation...my culture was replaced. This is OUTSTANDING customer service and I cant tell you how much this means to me as I continue my journey in the mycology field. I look forward to a future working with Mossy Creek and I look forward to a future mentorship. This company has been ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE to work with. Thank you guys so so much and I highly recommend these guys. My other cultures from Mossy Creek have been extremely plesant to work with. Top notch
